The Civilian Conservation Corps carried out improvement work at the Maricao Forrest (Bosque Estatal de Maricao). The work included “roads, trails, timber stand improvements and tree planting, as well as recreational developments.”

In 1938, the Bullitt Park municipal park was founded along with the building of a log cabin by the National Youth Administration (NYA). The building was a collaboration of the Richmond District Girl Scouts and the NYA boys, and was used for the training of NYA girls. The Girl Scout cost was $1000 and was raised by donations. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) made extensive improvements to Lithia Park, a 100-acre park at the heart of Ashland OR, from 1935 to 1938. Lithia Park was established in the early 20th century along Ashland Creek above the main town plaza, next to a small Chautauqua Park (added to Lithia Park in 1917).  A duck pond with waterfall was built on the site of an old flour mill in 1910 and then John McLaren, the designer of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, was invited to landscape the park in 1914-15.  McLaren transformed the little valley around the creek into a romantic...

The Works Progress Administration built new bathroom facilities for the Frederiksted High School School (renamed Arthur A. Richards Junior High School) on St. Croix.

Construction of two of the Windsor Halls: Wood Hall and Shealy Hall, was enabled by Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) funds in the form of a $247,500 grant. The total project cost was $604,813. PWA Docket No. IN 1368.

The Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) supplied an "unprecedented" $3,120,000 loan to Charles W. Chase to "expand further the Indianapolis system and buy even more state-of-the-art cars." These efforts helped increase patronage of the street car system by 25%, and "apparently reversed a trend everybody said was inevitable." P.W.A. Docket No. IN 5582

The Works Progress Administration completed improvements on Jolly Hill Road on St. Croix. “Graded and constructed shoulders along this road for a distance of ¾ mile…straightening road.”
