  • Pearlbrook Station Post Office Mural - Cleveland OH
    Cleveland's historic Pearlbrook Station post office houses one of many examples of New Deal artwork commissioned for northeast Ohio post offices by the federal Treasury Section of Fine Arts. The mural, "Ore Docks and Steel Mills," was completed by Richard Zoellner in 1938.

    The historic post office in Everett, Pennsylvania was constructed in 1937-8 with federal Treasury Department funds. The building, which houses an example of New Deal artwork, is still in service.
  • Idaho Falls Power Dam - Idaho Falls ID
    The Works Progress Administration (WPA) built or improved a power dam in the city of Idaho Falls, Idaho.  Judging from the photograph on the WPA record card in the National Archives, the dam is the one across the Snake River just above the Idaho Falls, which diverts part of the river into the hydroelectric power station run by Idaho Power Company.   • Memorial Pool - La Crosse WI
    Occasionally mis-attributed to the W.P.A., La Crosse's Memorial Pool was constructed in 1938 with federal Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) funds. The P.W.A. supplied an $31,500 grant for the project, whose total cost was $72,738. The pool was closed in 2016, though as of 2017 it appears the pool will be modernized or rebuilt.     Green Bay's Jackson Elementary School was constructed in 1937-8 with federal Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) funds. The P.W.A. supplied an $81,000 grant for the project, whose total cost was $208,266. PWA Docket No. WI 1326
  • Recreation Center - Stephenville TX
    The Works Progress Administration built the Recreation Center in Stephenville between 1936-1939. The two story white rock building has basketball courts and a stage. A metal plaque on the front notes the date 1938-1939, while a marble cornerstone has the date 1936-1938.
  • Lewiston Pumping Station and Lighting Plant - Auburn ME
    In 1873, the Legislature granted permission to the cities of Lewiston and Auburn to take water from Wilson Pond (later renamed Lake Auburn). In 1880, the pump house to supply water to the city was built.   • Mondeaux Dam Recreation Area - Westboro WI
    This 6.1-acre historic district includes three rustic buildings, a dam and the surrounding recreational grounds. It was a joint project of the U.S. Forest Service, the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Works Progress Administration. The work consisted of the construction of several additional features such as campgrounds and roads which are not part of the historic district. The buildings and dam are in excellent condition and appear almost exactly as they did when originally built.   • High School Gym - Fletcher OK
    The Federal Works Progress Administration (WPA) completed construction of the Fletcher High School Gym in 1938. The Waymarking site for this building says that, although the gym is still in use at Fletcher High School, it is now surrounded by newer buildings that block its view from the street. The Waymarking site goes to explain that: "At the corner of East Drive and Hornady Street is the Fletcher High School campus. At the center of the campus, behind newer buildings, this red brick WPA school gym and auditorium stands firm, anchoring the complex. It was built in 1938 with an appropriation of $27,270."
