There are four large (about 20' tall), vertically-oriented murals in the auditorium of the Clare Middle School, originally the Clare High School, on the north wall of the auditorium. The outer murals are dominated by a woman on the left, and a man on the right, both with sheets behind scenes of prosperous agriculture in front of the woman and oil wells and buildings in front of the man. Sculpted by Samuel Cashwan in 1938 for the Works Progress Administration (WPA), "Pioneer Mother" is a deco modern-style sculpture on the south side of the Clare High School, now the Clare Middle School. It has the appearance of a madonna and child, with the mother's face elongated and the child clinging to her breast. It was recently conserved and remains outside the school.

Between 1933 and 1939, crews of Civilian Conservation Corps workers built a trail from the Old Kasaan to the park. A registration form of the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) describes the trail: "A trail, cut by the CCC, starts at the west end of the original Kasaan town site, goes through woods and, in several places, emerges close to the shore. After crossing awooden bridge over Son-I-Hat Creek, the trail passes the nine free-standing totems and the Whale House. It continues to the southern cemetery and turns north to access the northern cemetery."

The post office in Muskegon was constructed between 1937 and 1938. Sometimes mis-attributed to the Works Progress Administration (WPA), it was constructed with Treasury Department funds. The large, two-story structure was built to replace a 1904 building. There is no New Deal artwork on site.

The historic Powell post office houses an example of New Deal artwork: the mural entitled "Powell's Agriculture Resulting from the Shoshone Irrigation Project," painted by Verona Burkhard in 1938. Annals of Wyoming: The mural in the Powell post office was completed in December, 1938, the work of a professional artist who had done similar work for post offices in Montana and North Carolina, and who had shown her work in various art exhibitions. The Pheobus Fire Department in Hampton, Virginia was originally constructed as the Town Hall for Pheobus, Virginia. The town of Phoebus has since been incorporated into the city of Hampton. The Town Hall building was constructed in 1938. In his 2008 "Historic Structures Survey of City of Hampton, Virginia," for the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, Stephen Del Sordo writes: "The federal government used the potential for a European war, the Civilian Conservation Corps, and Works Progress Administration programs to provide unemployment relief and to improve public facilities.... The CCC undertook “construction of a mile-long spur road off the Palmer Highway between Eagle River and Eklutna.”

The Shenandoah Memorial in Ava, Ohio was built to honor those lost in a 1925 airship crash that occurred in Noble County. The memorial was constructed with Treasury Department funds. The contractor was George Dodds & Sons Granite Company of Xenia, Ohio. Archival photos suggest the project was completed in September or October 1938. The CCC performed forestation work that included the “development of approximately 4,000 acres at the east end of St. Croix as a mahogany forest.”
