  • Cherry Lake Farms - Cherry Lake FL
    The Cherry Lake community was a Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) project to build a community for resettlement of families from the urban areas in Florida. FERA bought 15000 acres on which it planned to build farms, housing, and an industrial plant, withe the goal of creating a self sufficient farming community. Started with temporary housing then post office, community center, sawmill, family homes, etc.
  • Sewer System - Malden WV
    The Works Progress Administration built a sewer system in Malden, Kanawha County.
  • Street Improvements - Grantsville WV
    The Works Progress Administration completed improvements for several streets in Grantsville, Calhoun County. The work consisted of building retaining walls, curbs, and sidewalks.  
  • Missisquoi River Dam - Richford VT
    The Public Works Administration (PWA) funded the construction of a dam on the Missisquoi River in Richford VT. Docket No. 827-Vt. The PWA supplied a $59,000 loan and $22,823 grant for the project, whose total cost was $87,177. Construction occurred between Oct. 1933 and Oct. 1935. The exact location and the status of this dam are unknown to the Living New Deal.
  • Saint Albans Sewage Disposal Plant - Saint Albans VT
    The Public Works Administration funded the construction of the sewage disposal plant in Saint Albans. The work involved building the main structure and the settling tanks. Docket No. 4744-(Vt.). The exact location of this facility is unknown to the Living New Deal.  
  • Westminster Street Improvements - Bellows Falls VT
    The Works Progress Administration completed street improvements on Westminster Street in Bellows Falls.
  • Rutland Fire Department Addition - Rutland VT
    The Works Progress Administration built an addition for the Rutland Fire Department in Rutland, Rutland County. The addition housed a recreation room, dormitories, a kitchen and a library.
  • Saint Albans Grade School - Saint Albans VT
    The Works Progress Administration built the Saint Albans Grade School. The condition of this structure is unknown to the Living New Deal.
  • Plain City School Gymnasium - Plain City UT
    The Public Works Administration funded the construction of the Plain City School gymnasium in Plain City, Weber School District. Docket # 1011-R (Utah). The architect of record was H. Piers and the contractor was Campion & Co. The condition of this structure is unknown to the Living New Deal.
  • Kanab School Improvements - Kanab UT
    The Public Works Administration funded the construction of improvements at the Kanab School in Kanab. Docket # 1013-R (Utah). The Public Works Administration funded several projects at Kanab School. In 1933 - 34, PWA funds allowed leveling and enlarging the school hill. In 1934, outside walls were rebuilt, a new roof was put on, and ceiling lights were added. In 1937 - 38, rock walls, a stadium, and locker rooms were added, steps were widened, and grounds landscaped. The architect of record for parts of these efforts was Ashton and Evans. Total WPA funds for these projects was $6000.
