    The Wagner Performing Arts Center in Monroe, Washington was originally the auditorium of Monroe Junior High School, built in the late 1930s with the help of PWA grant funds. Construction of the auditorium and school began in September, 1938 and was completed within a year. The dedication ceremony was held September 15, 1939. Governor Clarence D. Martin was the keynote speaker, and declared the building to be one of the finest of its kind in the state.   • State Highway 78 Bridge (Demolished) - Bonham TX
    SH 78 bridge at Red River is the only surviving K-Truss bridge in Texas. It has an overall length of 2,108 feet, and provides a crossing between Fannin County, Texas and Bryan County, Oklahoma. The "eight riveted K-truss through spans, with two camelback pony truss spans at each end" (Lauderdale, 1996) was a joint project between the Texas Highway Department and the Oklahoma Highway Commission. Primarily designed by OHC engineers, the K-Truss is "meant to afford greater span length and strength" (Jensen).   • SH 34 Bridge (former) - Rosser TX
    The Texas state highway 34 bridge at the Trinity River over the Ellis and Kaufman county line was completed in 1934, and is no longer extant. The bridge, funded largely through the National Recovery Act, was "a single 150-foot Parker through truss and 53 steel I-Beam approach spans" (Lauderdale, 1996). The Trinity River Bridge was one of 543 Texas emergency projects funded under NIRA. The bridge was necessary as the Texas Highway Department planned to re-route SH 34 on a new location, and it included new roadway grading and drainage structures, as well as the bridge.     Pearl River County Central Elementary complex, formerly the McNeill community school, includes the 1940 WPA constructed gymnasium. The gymnasium is a Mississippi state landmark.
  • School (demolished) Improvements - Port Chicago CA
    WPA Project No. 65-3-4455, $3,800, App. Date 1-29-36. "Improvements to the Bay Pt. Schl." Port Chicago was renamed in 1931 after being called Bay Point since the late 19th century. Due to its proximity to the the Concord Naval weapons station loading docks, the town was bought up by the Navy and razed in 1969.
  • Frank Berry Courts - Meridian MS
    The Frank Berry Courts were constructed 1939 through the United States Housing Authority. The complex included 95 buildings, 113 dwelling units, of which 77 were 1-family attached units, 36 were 2-family attached units. Most were 5-room units, but some were 4 room and 6 rooms. The buildings were completely rehabilitated and modernized in 2011 through the Department of Housing and Urban Development funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
  • Vocational Building - Lauderdale MS
    The Lauderdale Consolidated School Vocational Building was constructed in 1937 by the National Youth Administration. The rock veneer building is a Mississippi Landmark and still extant, although not in use.
  • Vocational Building (former) - Poplarville MS
    The National Youth Administration built the vocational building for the Pearl River County Training School in 1941. The building was one part of a complex of buildings constructed for African American students between 1900 and 1951.
