  • Oklahoma State Route 325: Culvert 'JJ' - Cimarron County OK
    The Work Projects Administration (WPA) project undertook grading and culvert construction efforts in Cimarron County along Oklahoma State Route 325, between Kenton and Boise City. As of 2018 more than 20 structures along this stretch of road bear a shield-shaped WPA imprint stamp. What is known in an ODOT historic survey as structure 'JJ' bears a 1940 WPA stamp on its north superstructure. (The stamp is on the north side of the road, facing south.) The culvert is located on Route 325, east of Kenton, a driving distance of 4.9 miles.

    The Williamson Housing Authority built the Victoria Court Housing Project with aid from the Federal Housing Authority. The development consists of a complex of seven, two-story brick buildings laid in rows of three providing a central court (now a modern playground). The project still retains the clotheslines behind the apartment units, some of which were are still in use.   • Williamson Terrace Public Housing - Williamson WV
    The Williamson Housing Authority built the Williamson Terrace Public Housing with aid from the Federal Housing Authority. The development consists of a single row of two-story, brick structures, with one structure set forward, closer to the right of way along Vinson Street. The back street appears on some maps as Smith Street. A retaining wall is to the rear of the projects holding up a steep hill and to the side allowing the forward building to be level.   • Arch Hurley Conservancy District Building - Tucumcari NM
    The Work Projects Administration (W.P.A.) constructed the Arch Hurley Conservancy District building in Tucumcari, New Mexico in 1940. "Construction of the High Street office building took place in the summer and fall of 1940. A photograph at the ACHD office, dated July 9 of that year, shows “Manufacture of cement cinder blocks by W.P.A. men. These blocks are to be used in the construction of the new administrative building."
  • Rockville Stone Chapel - Fairfield CA
    A WPA plaque hanging in front of the chapel building reads: "This Historic Monument Erected A.D. 1856 by Solano County Pioneers. Reconstructed by Federal Works Agency, Work Projects Administration A.D. 1940" A nearby California Historical Marker no. 779 highlights this structure and reads: "Erected by pioneers of Methodist Episcopal Church South with volunteer labor and donated funds. Cornerstone laid October 3, 1856. Dedicated February 1857. Site supplied by Landy and Sarah Alford. Chapel deteriorated by 1929 and deeded by the church to Rockville Public Cemetery District as a pioneer monument.     In 1940, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) built a lengthy ~0.3-mile wall along part of the road which surrounds the Upper Franklin Canyon Reservoir in Franklin Canyon Park, Beverly Hills, CA. When driving north along the east side of the reservoir, the wall is to your left. Plaques at the north and south ends of the wall read "Built by United States Work Projects Administration 1940."
