    Pittsburgh's historic, Art Deco-style Lemington Elementary School building was built in 1937 as a New Deal project: the Public Works Administration (PWA) provided a $176,693 grant for the project, whose total cost was $428,894. "Portions of the exterior are ornamented with terra cotta, and feature Mayan-inspired motifs such as an amber sunburst frieze and stylized human faces.     Charleroi Stadium, or Cougar Stadium, was built in 1937 as a New Deal project: the Public Works Administration (PWA) provided a $36,818 grant for the school construction project in Bradford, whose total cost was $84,311. "By any name, it has been home to Charleroi Area High School athletic teams since it opened on Sept. 10, 1937. That long and memorable chapter in the community's history will end Oct. 22 when Charleroi plays host to Freedom High School in a WPIAL inter-conference game.     Ben Miller writes in the Nazareth Patch: "This beautiful art deco pool was one of the few above-ground municipal pools to be constructed in the country and like Nazareth's Borough Pool, it was built by the WPA from 1937 to 1939.  Though I was raised in Nazareth from birth, my mother and her family are from Bangor and this pool was a big part of their lives.  In fact, my great-grandfather, John I.     A 1985 Oklahoma Landmark Inventory identifies the perimeter wall around parts of the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College to be a Works Progress Administration (project), built in 1937-8: The campus of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College is partially encompassed by a WPA constructed rock fence. This double rock, 4 foot high and 18 inch thick fence is constructed of uncut and uncoursed native sandstone. It extends north to south some 150 feet, and east to west some 470 feet.     In 1937 the Works Progress Administration (WPA) "completely paved and modernized" Denver's Colfax Avenue, "and built a new western route which took it over the hill and across ranch land to the entrance of Mt. Vernon Canyon, its present route. Around this time Colfax was designated U.S. Highway 40."
  • Oak Lodge - Killingworth CT
    "Oak Lodge is a historic recreational complex in Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth, Connecticut. that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The main building is a large Rustic-style structure built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The lodge was built on the west side of Schreeder Pond, an artificial pond also built by the CCC. It was part of the development of recreational activities within Cockaponset State Forest. The CCC benefited from the construction excellence of its masons, wrought-iron smiths, and woodworkers, and some of their best work is shown in Oak Lodge....
