  • Greenville Armory - Greenville AL
    The Works Progress Administration built an armory in Greenville circa 1938. The structure is currently used as the Butler County Extension Office. The front has been altered to add a portico, but the structure of the original armory and fenestration remain visible. Newspaper items indicate the construction was completed "first of the year" in 1937 although it was still under construction April 1937. The supervisor of construction was Marion Riley.
  • State Police Post (former) - Cadillac MI
    Constructed by the Works Progress Administration (WPA), this facility was built to house the Michigan State Police's Gaylord Post. Construction began on July 29, 1937 and the post opened on Feb. 23, 1938. The building is now privately owned.
  • State Police Post - Houghton Lake MI
    Constructed in 1937 by the Works Progress Administration (WPA), this facility was built to house the Michigan State Police's Gaylord Post. The building is still in service. It was equipped with a 325-foot broadcasting station equal in power to that in the capital Lansing.

    Constructed in 1936 by the Works Progress Administration (WPA), this handsome facility continues to serve as the Michigan State Police's Bad Axe Post.
  • Post Office - Wabasha MN
    The historic post office in Wabasha, Minnesota was constructed federal Treasury Department funds in 1937-1938. The building, which houses an example of New Deal artwork inside, is still in service.
  • Alabama Boys Industrial School Facilities- Birmingham AL
    The Works Progress Administration built facilities for the Alabama Boys Industrial School in Roebuck, a neighborhood of Birmingham, Jefferson County. The facilities included a dining hall and a heating plant. The present condition of the structure is unknown to the Living New Deal.
  • Ontonagon School Addition - Ontonagon MI
    The historic Ontonagon School received an addition as a Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) project. The addition extended the building southeast. The P.W.A. supplied a $28,228 grant for the project, whose total cost was $62,878. Construction occurred in 1937-8. "In 1938, a two-story addition for elementary schooling, designed by architect A.B. Nelson of the Warren S. Holmes Company, was constructed next to the original high school building. The addition was connected to the original building on the southeast side via an annex corridor."     A high school building in Loyal, Wisconsin was constructed with Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) funds.
