The Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) installed a new heating system, water pipes, and electrical wiring in 1937, re-shingling the roof as well.

The interior of the building was also painted," by the W.P.A.

The concrete sidewalks that surround and lead up to the historic Denton County Courthouse are considered to be contributing structures in this historic district, and they were built by the Works Progress Administration between 1934 and 1935. The PWA funded renovations and an addition at the Sheffield School circa 1934. The school closed in 2007, and the city has explored turning the building into a high-tech innovation center called InnovateNewport with a $1.7 million federal grant, but the status of the project is unclear.

The historic El Monte Clubhouse in Ogden, Utah was constructed as part of a New Deal project by Civil Works Administration (CWA) and Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA). These agencies precede the Works Progress Administration (WPA), to which the building is sometimes attributed.
