  • Choate School (former) - Choate TX
    A plaque on the ruins of a wall in the community of Choate, near the city of Kenedy, Texas, indicate the Works Progress Administration constructed the building between 1938 and 1939. Another plaque listing board members and the superintendent and principal indicate the building was a school. Written tradition confirms the building was a school that closed in the mid-1960s. The property is now owned by the Choate Baptist Church. The church had the interior of the building burned and cleared out circa 2000. The ruins are used as a fellowship center.
  • Dove Road Bridge - Westlake TX
    The Tarrant County Works Progress Administration (WPA) built this small bridge between 1938 and 1939. This is a small vehicle bridge on Dove Road leading into Grapevine, Texas. The bridge has a WPA marker bearing the date of 1938-1939.

  • Library Hall Remodeling - Dexter IA
    The Works Progress Administration remodeled of a two-story brick structure into a one-story library and community hall, 1938-1939. The construction costs were $4,o62 in federal funds and $348 in city funds.
  • Okeechobee Migratory Labor Camp - Belle Glade FL
    The Farm Security Administration build this camp in 1939 to house black farm workers from the Caribbean. While there is still housing here, this is no longer a camp.
  • City Park - Anson TX
    The Works Progress Administration (WPA) began work on the development of a city park, swimming pool, and golf course in January 1939. Bath houses, seats, wading pool, bandstand, rock veneer golf house with showers, and picnic tables of rock veneer and concrete were also constructed. The WPA provided a grant of approximately $45,000 and the city voted $12,000 in bonds to construct the swimming pool and municipal park. Engineer Cecil Hauk drew plans for the project. Frank H.   • City Hall - De Leon TX
    The Works Progress Administration (WPA) built the municipal building in De Leon, Texas. The building has housed various municipal functions over the years, including  the City Hall, Fire Station, Auditorium, and Library. Official project No. 665-66-2-16. File card text: City Hall; City hall and fire station, including Auditorium; reinforced concrete foundation, brick construction, steel trusses in auditorium; also contains library. Two story brick building is still City Hall. But the building now houses a police station instead of a fire station. Plaque on building reads: Works Progress Administration 1938-1939.
  • Dauffau School Gymnasium - Dauffau TX
    Rubble rock building with a WPA plaque. START WORK ON DUFFAU PROJECT: Construction work is under way on the $13,500 gymnasium building of the Duffau school, with Bryan Casbeer, of Lampasas, as project superintendent. The project is being financed through a bond issue of the Duffau school district and the Works Progress Administration. W. W. Stevens, area engineer, Hamilton, was in Stephenville last Monday and reported that 32 WHA laborers were employed on the project.
