Description
Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) workers constructed Leominster’s original water treatment facility, which has been drastically modernized on multiple occasions in the intervening decades. WPA Bulletin:
As a public health safety measure the Leominster WPA has constructed a large water filtration plant on Monoosnock River [Brook]. Many skilled and unskilled workers were employed on this project.

I’m looking for information regarding the Distributing Reservoir near the end of Exchange St. in Leominster, MA. It appears that the earth dam was constructed with granite from an on-site quarry. Also, the brook feeding into it was stabilized with granite to reduce sediment in the reservoir.
