My late mother graduated from Ps 80 in the Bronx in 1943. Is is really a hell hole from what I read from the Daily News? Is this the address?
149 E Mosholu Pkwy
Bronx, NY 10467?
I have my mother’s graduation photo if you’re interested. Sincerely Andi
I graduated from PS 80 in 1946. It was no “hell hole.” Teachers were dedicated professionals.
Most graduates went to DeWitt Clinton HS but many of us attended the Bronx HS of Science and prestigious colleges. We proudly sang the ’80 alma mata–“Of our school upon the Parkway we ll delight to sing…”
Marvin Rosen, Ph.D.
Dear Dr. Rosen,
My name is Peter Melnick, and I believe you were a class-mate of my father, the late Daniel Melnick. (I have a copy of the P.S. 80 Class of 1946, taken in January of that year. My dad was in the back row, third from the left, if you happen to have that photo.)
I am writing a book about my father (who went on to become a wonderful film producer) and my maternal grandfather (theater composer Richard Rodgers). I would love to speak with you, if you’re game, and ply you with questions about your school years in the Bronx. My contact information follows, below.
Hopefully yours… Peter Melnick

Anyone have any photos ??
I have come across some paperwork citing PS 80 in the Bronx from 1929. Was there an earlier location for this school? Prior to 1935?
