Constructed as the Morehead post office, Morehead’s police building (previously the Municipal Building / city hall) was constructed with federal Treasury Department funds ca. 1936. The building houses an example of New Deal artwork.

This is being restored now and it is an Egg Tempera painting on Belgian Linen.
We are trying to restore as many of these murals as possible before they are destroyed and lost.
The restored mural now hangs at the Rowan County Public Library at 175 Beacon Hill Dr., Morehead, KY 40351
