Description
The Municipal Court building in Jackson, Georgia was constructed as the city’s post office during the 1930s. This New Deal structure served as the post office until 1995, when operations relocated to East 2nd St. The building also housed an example of New Deal artwork, which was also relocated.

The artwork mural was moved to the new post office building, but this past year it was covered over with black plastic sheeting. No information has been available as to its future. The only explanation is that someone made a complaint that the depiction of white and black workers picking cotton was offensive.
