Description
A historic marker at the Kenmore-Tonawanda Municipal Building reads:
“Kenmore-Tonawanda Municipal Building
Exemplifies the classical-monumental style of renowned architect E.B. Green. Erected in 1936 with [P]ublic [W]orks [A]dministration funds to house the governing bodies of the Village of Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda, replacing the former Kenmore Union School building on this site.”
PWA Docket No. NY 1156-R granted $111,866 toward the project’s construction, which began April 1936 and was completed June 1937. The project cost $251,258 in all.
