Description

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) paved 34 streets in Hartford, Connecticut, including the 1.3-mile-long stretch of Hillside Avenue from White Street to Park Terrace, as part of a $2.5 million, two-year paving project begun in 1937. The federal government contributed $1 million.
