Description
The original General Sullivan Bridge was completed as a Public Works Administration (PWA) project in 1935, designed to carry traffic over the Piscataqua River. The bridge was closed to vehicular traffic in 1984 and closed to all users in September 2018. Though the bridge still stands, it has functionally been replaced by two newer spans.
