The groundwork for a new, enlarged courthouse for Cecil County was put in place in 1935, when the General Assembly of Maryland authorized the county to "expend $5,000 for a lot of ground on which to build a new courthouse whenever it was needed," which the county "visualize to be built with the aid of Federal funds".  A site on East Main Street, about 200 yards east of the then-courthouse, was selected for the new building. Casa Grande Ruins National Monument in Coolidge, Arizona, preserves an ancient Sonoran Desert people's farming community and "Great House."  One of the largest prehistoric structures ever built in North America, the purpose of the Casa Grande remains a mystery. Between 1937 and 1940 the CCC did extensive work in the area, including constructing a number of adobe park facilities. The WPA-built stone wall runs 1000 feet along the Blackstone River through Pawtucket, adjacent to Pawtucket City Hall and Historic Slater Mill. Both of those sites are located on Roosevelt Ave and are on the National Registry of Historic Places. The wall runs from behind 137 Roosevelt Ave to 67 Roosevelt Ave, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, 02860. It was built in 1940 and is still in excellent condition.

The oil-on-canvas mural "Sugarloaf Mountain" was painted for Rockville, Maryland's old post office, which is now a police station. The Pierre Van Cortlandt School was completed and opened in January 1940. The school was built as a Public Works Administration (PWA) project, a New Deal progream established under Franklin Roosevelt. The building has some beautiful artwork, including a stone relief on the grand staircase, sculptures on the gymnasium walls, and a stunning stained glass window. The stained glass window depicts a sailboat that appears to be floating on the actual Hudson river. The artwork was done under the auspices of the Federal Art Project.

This 100–foot, riveted, 5-panel Pratt through-truss bridge over the Verdugo Wash in Glendale, CA, was built by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1940.

This large park and fountain, two miles north of the Brown campus, were erected by the WPA in 1935-37 and 1940 respectively.

Wendell Jones painted this Section of Fine Arts-commissioned mural, "Farmer Family" for the Johnson City post office in 1940. The work was moved from the old post office when a new one was built and now resides in the Sherrod Library on the East Tennessee State University campus. The figure below the cow's tail is a self-portrait of the artist. The Red Setter was Jones's dog and the Irish Setter belonged to friend George Ludin, another prominent artists.  

This mural "Local Industries" by Natalie Henry was completed with support from the Treasury Section of Fine Arts in 1940. It was originally in the historic former Springville Post Office, but it is now on display at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Ben Carlton Mead completed two New Deal murals for the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. One, "Coronado's Coming" was painted in 1934 with funding from the PWAP. Another, "Antelope Creek Focus" was painted in 1940 with funding from the WPA Federal Art Project.
