This post office, constructed by the federal government in 1935, is home to Elsie Seeds's 1937 mural, "Air Mail," and Stuart Holmes's 1936 wood carving, "Eagle," both for the Treasury Section of Fine Arts.

$40,000 was expended by the federal government on the grading, paving, and structure of a bridge and its approaches over the Southern Pacific railroad on Eureka Way. The bridge is marked BR 6-35 on the railing at its northeastern corner.

The federal Bureau of Public Roads gave a grant of $8,200 for the State Highway Department to grade and surface a half-mile portion of Main Street from Broaddus Creek to the North West Pacific Railroad tracks.  Main Street is part of the old Redwood Highway, which is was bypassed by the modern Highway 101 in the 1960s.
