Meridian State Park is located along the 98th meridian on the edge of a natural transition zone between prairie and hill country. The land was acquired from private owners between 1933 and 1935 and the 505.4-acre park opened to the public in 1935. The park is currently administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The CCC constructed firetowers on steel frameworks to help protect the new plantings and existing forests. The firetower at McCormick's Creek was completed in 1934 by CCC laborers. The firetower stands around 100' tall.

The Stone Arch bridge located at McCormick's Creek was completed in 1934 by CCC CO 589. The bridge spans fifty feet and was constructed with Indiana Limestone.

From 1933 to 1934 the CWA was involved in taking up track within the city from the defunct interurban electric trolley, the Bay State Railway Company. The BSRC went bankrupt in 1919, but sections still survive today in the MBTA transportation system. In his report summary of 1933, local Mayor Alvin Lucier wrote: "CAR TRACK REMOVAL AND STREET REPAIRS. This contemplated complete repair of over six miles of streets now occupied by car tracks, as well as a complete rebuilding of the southwesterly end of Allds Street; this project further provided for covering Commercial Street, at present roughly paved, with a hot top...

E. R. A. funds were used to assist the Mansfield, Massachusetts Fire Department with upkeep and beautification in 1934. "The Central Station received a coat of paint on all outside wood and metal surfaces during the year, also part of the inside walls and ceilings were painted." Three Fire Department trucks and a pump were also painted with the aid of E. R. A. funds.

"The new sixty-foot fire tower on High Rock is nearing completion. The work has been done by the men of the C. C. C. The glass-enclosed observation room at the top of the tower will be occupied during the period from April to October next year, by a man whose duty it will be to detect forest fires and notify the fire fighting forces where the blaze is located. By triangulating with maps and instruments these observers locate the blazes with amazing accuracy." A personal visit to this site in 2014 suggests that the CCC structure has been demolished and replaced.

The 1934 town report under town appropriations says that $1500.00 was spent on "Wharf C.W.A. Fed. project" It is located behind the hardware store and is used by the the town fire department according to a recent selectmen report. A playground and small beach for residents are at the location also.

"Ross Moffett studied with Hawthorne and was one of the first year-round painters in Provincetown, moving into Days Lumberyard in 1914. "Gathering Beach Plums" and "Spreading Nets," his large murals in the Town Hall entrance were painted in 1934 under the federal Public Works of Art Project of the Depression era.
