    "The steel structure of the hangar rises from a concrete foundation. Corrugated metal siding clads the walls and very shallow gambrel roof. Large telescopic sliding doors, that extend beyond the original building, dominate the north and south ends. Windows and doors pierce the side (e & w) walls...The hangar originally had a segmental arch roof. Shed roof additions running the length of the side walls created the current roof form. The large end wall doors are also a significant alteration. Property owner Tommy Atkinson deeded airport land to the City of Pittsburg for $1, and solicited CWA funds for the project....

    "The kidney-shaped lake is surrounded by a grassy lawn dotted with mature trees and shrubs. A gravel path encircles the lake. Two modern bridges with metal railings cross the lake near its center... The current bridge is a modern addition to the lake as is the picnic shelter. Research suggests that this was a CWA project completed in 1934."

    "Brick structure resting on a concrete foundation has a front-gable roof with a stepped parapet. Original window and door openings are framed by header bricks. Some of the 1/1 windows are square while others are rectangular. A cast stone plaque at the top of the parapet gives the date of construction...The original front entry has been bricked in. Other window openings have been bricked in, reduced in size, or enlarged. This project was constructed using WPA funds. An appropriation of $2,850 was made in September 1935."

Wood frame picnic shelters have gable roofs and rest on concrete slabs. Lights attached to large wood poles illuminate the path and playground areas. Tennis courts have lights mounted on metal poles. A circular, mortared stone element, approximately 2 1/2 feet tall and 5 feet in diameter, is located in the southeast quadrant of the park. It is unclear what function it originally served...
