Dean Engineering and Construction of Reedsburg, Wisconsin was the general contractor, with construction beginning in Oct./Nov. 1937. Dedication of the facility occurred on Aug. 26, 1938 (though residual construction work relating to the building's basement occurred in late 1939). Per the Argus-Leader of Sioux Falls: All letters going through the Mobridge postoffice that day will be stamped with a special cachet, reading 'The Only Mobridge in the World.'     What is now the Waterloo Public Library at 415 Commercial St. was originally constructed as a post office and federal building (including courthouse). Built in 1937-8, in 1981 the building became a library, replacing two Carnegie libraries. The building bears a 1937 cornerstone and interior plaque.
