Description
In 1940, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) funded the creation of William Penn Park in Whittier, CA. A playground and picnic areas were included in the construction, and the park was landscaped with lily ponds, fountains, and ornamental lights. Some of the WPA stamps from 1940 remain in the sidewalks.
