“The Herington Post Office was constructed by the PWA for $55,000. It was dedicated on December 12, 1935 and occupied on January 1, 1936. It contains one of six New Deal post office murals by Louis Freund. Supervising architect was Louis A. Simon. Supervising engineer was Neal A. Melick.”
