Description
Malvern, Arkansas received a new post office during the Great Depression as part of a New Deal-era construction boom. Appropriations were made in 1934, with $65,000 estimated for site acquisition and construction. Construction likely began in 1935, and the building served for about 35 years (further verification requested).
FieldTripper.com: “The Methodist church on the east side of the post office bought it in the 1970s and wrapped a remodeled, expanded church around the building, leaving it unrecognizable.”
