The things built by Americans during the 1930s represent, along with the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad 60-70 years prior to that decade, the very best we ever were as a nation. Post offices. Libraries. Bridges. Banks. Schools. When we are given the opportunity, we create beautiful, lasting edifices. Right now I’m sitting in Macado’s in downtown Marion, and I’m thinking about the mail, and the letters people sent from where I’m sitting. It’s magical.
WHY was ART WORK re-located??
Nothing out of the ordinary here, it was moved to the lobby of the current post office.
I remember going in the old post office as a child. It was always interesting seeing all of the wanted posters hanging on the wall as well as news articles.
