Located on Blue Beaver Creek below the Rush Lake dam, Lake Jed Johnson was impounded by this Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)-built dam in the mid-to-late 1930s. CCC camp No. B-F-1 was responsible for the dam’s construction, which was underway in 1936 and completed in 1937. The lake and 40-foot dam were dedicated to Jed Johnson on July 31, 1937.
