Unusual architectural features were used in the construction of the school. Cave stalactites or stalagmites are imbedded at the peak over the front door, atop the chimney, and surrounding the concrete name plate over the front door. The other interesting thing is the use of upside down numeral “2” for the letters “s” in the word Wilderness and School when the concrete was cast. The date is 1935 rather than the 1939 mentioned in the previous information.
I believe my mother and her cousin were some of the first teaches in that school building. Ethel and Lena.
