The WPA (or its predecessor agency) built a TB Sanatorium just off of Highway 31 (also referred to as “the Old Montgomery Highway”) in Homewood, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. That building is now part of the Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital. Nearby, there is a small pavilion constructed in the same style and of the same type stone as the sanatorium. Toward the end of being able to facilitate preservation of the small pavilion, I am seeking to learn as much about it as possible. Who built it? When was it built? What was its purpose? Who owns it? Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
