Description
The historic post office in Traverse City, Michigan was constructed in 1938 with federal Treasury Department funds. The building, which housed an example of New Deal artwork, is still in service.

The wooden reliefs have not been in the post office for probably over 50 years. They were taken down during renovation, given to a local man that shoveled snow (as his payment), then he paid a dental bill with 2 of the remaining 3 pieces. I spoke to the dentist just today (3.3.24) and he has since given the 2 pieces to “someone” north of Detroit years back that wanted to display them but he does not remember who, when, where.
