The Moore Recreation Center, including a swimming pool, bath house, and possibly a playground, were constructed in 1939-40 as a New Deal project: the Public Works Administration (PWA) provided a $124,700 grant for project, whose total cost was $272,577. “The grand opening of the swimming pool was held on August 9, 1940.”
A plaque marks the bathhouse as a PWA project.
