Description

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) built this octagonal stone shelter

The shelter was designed by Denver architect J.J.B. Benedict in the popular parks rustic style of the time, using native stone and timber to blend with the natural setting.

Little Park was added to the Denver Mountain Park system in 1917.  We do not know exactly what year the shelter was built.
