Description
Regarding a Civil Works Administration project in eastern Wyoming, Michael Cassity writes:
“The local identities of the roads are evident in the definition of the terminus of some of the projects, such as the project to “Gravel Wheatland-Bosler highway in the muddy places from Thrasher’s store to approximately two miles west of Jones’ ranch.” These projects were locally identified and locally prioritized—not imported from Washington planners. The description of the Wheatland-Bosler highway also indicates the general conditions of the roads and why they needed attention.”
