Description
The 9-hole golf course was designed by Perry Maxwell in 1939 and constructed with WPA labor. Although another 9 holes were added in later years, the original design by Maxwell is still in use.
“…public recreation centers offered the greatest benefit to society as a means of promoting health and happiness” (Jerris, 2009).
