Description
“Follow the gravel road on the right, past the metal gate and a pit toilet beyond, to the west end of Day Pond and the stone dam that was restored in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
The original dam, constructed by the Colonialera Day family, once powered a sawmill. The pond’s root-beer-colored water, stained by tannins, now tumbles unimpeded over the spillway.”
