Annual Reports for the City of Montpelier detail expenses and locations for many sewer projects undertaken by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the city. The 1936 report details work undertaken in 1935: "With regular city funds and with W.P.A. funds 11 new connections were made, 2 new manholes and 41 new chimneys built and many repaired. 402 feet of 6" sewer was relaid on North Street. 339 feet of 6" sewer extended on Northfield Street to the Greaves house. 1466 feet of 6" sewer extended on Upper Main Street to the Calvin Murray farm and 300 feet of 8" sewer extended...

WPA Bulletin, 1937: "North Andover — Seven important sewers, nearly blocked by the twisted roots of large trees, are being relaid by a WPA project which is employing more than 200 men."

A sanitary sewer construction project project in Powell, Wyoming was undertaken as a federal Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) project during the Great Depression. PWA Docket No. WY 1100 Furthermore, the Civil Works Administration (CWA) constructed sewers in Powell. Cassity: "In Powell, one CWA project set out to “extend, excavate, backfill Powell sewer for 1800 feet; lay 18” sewer pipe, construct manholes and connect to present sewer system."

Multiple sewer construction projects in Quincy, Mass. were undertaken with the assistance of federal Public Works Administration (PWA) funds. PWA Docket Nos. MA 1985, 2051.

The WPA furnished labor for the construction of sewers and gutters in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Greenville's Record-Argus reported that some such work occurred during 1940.

A sizable sewer construction project was undertaken in Shelby, Ohio with the assistance of federal Public Works Administration (PWA) funds. The PWA supplied a $36,200 loan and $14,794 grant toward the project, whose total cost was $43,532. Work occurred between January and October 1934. (PWA Docket No. OH 929)

A large sanitary sewer construction project in Sheridan, Wyoming was undertaken as a federal Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) project during the Great Depression. The P.W.A. supplied a $130,662 grant for the project, whose total cost was $248,168. PWA Docket No. WY 1093

Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) labor constructed sewers in Somerville, Massachusetts. WPA Bulletin: WPA skilled and unskilled laboring men are engaged in laying 17 miles of sewage pipe, in Somerville. More than 1200 men have been engaged on this project at one time. More than 22,000 men and women are employed by WPA in the district.

A sanitary sewer construction project in Warren, Rhode Island was undertaken with the assistance of federal Public Works Administration (PWA) funds. The PWA supplied a $39,500 loan and $10,959 grant for the project, whose total cost was $51,002; construction occurred between September 1934 and April 1935. PWA Docket No. RI 1318.

Multiple sewer construction projects in Watertown, South Dakota were undertaken during the Great Depression with the aid of federal Public Works Administration (PWA) funds. Storm sewers and sanitary sewers were constructed as part of two separate PWA grants. (PWA Docket No. SD 1045, 1076)

"The WPA also funded the laying of sewer lines in various areas" on the North Texas State College campus.

Lewiston took full advantage of New Deal funds to get much work accomplished during the years of the economic depression. One of these federally funded projects was the upgrade of the sewer system. During the hard winter of 1933/34, "Sewer pipes are now being laid on Castle, Dill, Eustis and Foch St. Sewer pipes on Glenwood St., Boston Ave. and at Barkerville are soon to be laid." 1934 Mayors Report: E. Between 1933 and 1943 multiple New Deal agencies: the C.W.A., F.E.R.A., and W.P.A., funded labor for the drastic expansion of sewers and other drainage pipes in Framingham, Mass. In all 17 miles of sewers and eight miles of drains were constructed as a result of these projects along dozens of roads across the town.

The Civil Works Administration (C.W.A.) and Federal Emergency Relief Administration (F.E.R.A.) constructed drains in Maynard, Massachusetts in 1934. Construction occurred along Florida Rd., Waltham St., and Summer St., and a catch basin was built at Haynes St. Work continued in subsequent years under the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.).

F.E.R.A. conducted a drainage project on Shawmut Ave. in 1934.
