Living New Deal Research Associate, Andrew Laverdiere, was invited to speak at the Westbrook Historical Society on May 6th, first Wednesday at 1:30 pm, in Westbrook, Maine. He will speak about the 1930’s Great Depression, President Franklin Roosevelt’s efforts at poverty relief in Westbrook, Cumberland County, Maine. The talk will also address the New Deal’s legacy at the national level, as well as the work of the Living New Deal is and its goals.
