The relatively plain building was "built to permit later additions," and underwent at least one significant expansion during the early 1960s. The cornerstone was laid Apr. 5, 1941 and the 70-foot-long, $95,000 building was dedicated Jul. 26, 1941. The original structure is located at the southeast part of the building, closest to the intersection of W. Powell Blvd. and NW Miller Ave.

- Post Office (former) Mural - Batesburg-Leesville SCThe New Deal mural "Peach Orchard" was created for the then-new Batesburg, South Carolina post office. It was painted in 1941 by Irving A. Block. The work was commissioned by the Treasury Section of Fine Arts. In the 1980s, the cities of Batesburg & Leesville combined into one city and a new post office was constructed. As of 2013, the old New Deal Batesburg post office had been sold and left vacant by its new owners.
- Post Office - Berwyn ILThe post office in Berwyn was constructed in 1940 with Treasury Department funds , by way of the Federal Works Agency (FWA). The building, which houses an example of New Deal artwork, is still in service. Its cornerstone was laid Nov. 8, 1940. Per The Berwyn News: Into the copper box placed in the cornerstone went a miscellaneous assortment of articles for the edification of future citizens to ponder over. Included were copies of newspapers, statement by Postmaster Borkovec, letter from Mayor Janura, letter from the Township offices, a copy of Berwyn Legion post's publication, souvenirs from other veteran organizations, etc.
