Artist Jason Herron sculpted "Modern Youth" for Belmont Senior High School in Los Angeles, CA, with Federal Arts Project (FAP) funds. Originally located on the school's front lawn and currently found in the entryway, the sculpture "represents the scholastic interests as well as the athletic accomplishments of young people today" (Wells, p. 25). It depicts a boy with a book in his right hand and a globe against his left hip. He sits on a two-tiered base with the inscription "WPA/Federal Art Project/1937." In 1937, with Federal Art Project (FAP) funding, Charles Hulbert Davis painted a mural, "Drake's Landing in California – 1579," at the Hall of Records in Los Angeles, CA. Davis' mural was located in the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, alongside FAP murals by Lorser Feitelson, Helen Lundeberg, and Buckley MacGurrin (see linked projects). The Hall of Records, built in 1911, was demolished after the 1971 San Fernando earthquake. The status of all five murals is unknown.

Jordan High School (formerly David Starr Jordan High School) in Los Angeles, CA was rebuilt following the 1933 Long Beach earthquake. Construction between 1935 and 1937 totaled $276,373 and was partially funded by the Public Works Administration (PWA). In 1934-35, Contracting Engineers Inc. rebuilt two shop buildings at the school. In addition, contractors Easton & Nesser built a new 24-room administration building and reconstructed the main and domestic science buildings. The US Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay at the end of the Samoa Peninsula across from Eureka, Calif0rnia was built in 1936-37 as a federal military project, with the aid of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and its relief workforce. (HABS, p. 17) The structure replaced a considerably smaller station built in 1878, known as the Humboldt Bay Life-Saving Station. Gardner Commons is a low income housing apartment subsidized by the federal governments HUD (Housing and Urban Development Division) that utilizes the former Bucksport High School/Jr High, a PWA project. The Bangor Daily News reported in 2009 that $250,000 was spent to convert the Junior High school building into elderly apartments. The Works Progress Administration built an athletic stadium and swimming pool in 1937 in Greenville OH. The Athletic field has recently undergone renovations and is still in use by the Greenville High School in Greenville, Ohio. In 2017, the original track and grass playing field were replaced with a new synthetic field turf, while the track was moved to a new track and field complex just to the north of the site. Built in 1936-37, occupied for school use on September 7, 1937. In 1875, the school district built a wood frame schoolhouse near the center of town. In 1903, the board built a masonry building to replace the frame school. In 1935, a fire destroyed the school. The building was insured for $35,000, but the estimated loss was $100.000. The new school served the entire township, since Indiana officials had been encouraging public school consolidation since the 1890s.
