    The fresco "Chuck Wagon Serenade" was painted by Manuel A. Bromberg in 1940. It was a winner of the Treasury Section's 48-State Post Office Mural Competition. Annals of Wyoming: In June, 1939, the Treasury Section conducted a national competition from which 48 paintings were selected, one for a post office commission in each of the states.     The historic post office in Kemmerer, Wyoming houses multiple examples of New Deal artwork: three oil-on-canvas murals painted by Eugene Kingman in 1938.     The historic post office for Yellowstone National Park, located at the Mammoth Hot Springs community near the north entrance of the park, is home to an example of New Deal artwork: two stone sculptures entitled "Young Grizzly Bears," created by Gladys Caldwell Fisher.   • Ranger Residence - Pinedale WY
    In 1933, U.S. Forest Service workers constructed a ranger residence at 243 West Pine Street in the city of Pinedale, Wyoming. The Colonial-Revival style building follows standard architectural plans created by George L. Nichols, a prominent regional architect whose designs were utilized by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) throughout the 1930s. The building was originally used as both an office and a dwelling for USFS rangers to administer services in the nearby Bridger-Teton National Forest. Today, the Pinedale Ranger District uses the dwelling for storage and occasional employee housing.

    The Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) constructed water supply reservoirs northwest of Casper, Wyoming. Casper Star-Tribune, March 3, 1935: "Drought conditions of last year prompted the excavation and construction of important and permanent reservoirs on the 33-Mile stock trail west of Casper, which links the prairie winter range with the Big Horn summer range, at a cost of $33,740. Of this sum, $30,000 was supplied through the ERA ..." It is unclear to Living New Deal whether these projects includes what are now known as Bressler Reservoir, Daly Reservoir, or possibly even Gowin-Kesecker Lake, which are located in the vicinity of Thirtythree...
  • Riverside Cemetery - Cody WY
    The Civil Works Administration (CWA) conducted work at what Living New Deal believes is Riverside Cemetery (a.k.a. Cody Cemetery) in Cody, Wyoming. Cassity: "Several cemeteries were fenced and improved, such as that in Cody, and the old cemetery at Green River was removed and the graves transferred to a site at the new cemetery—all with CWA workers."
  • Road and Culvert Development - Pinedale WY
    During its brief life in the winter of 1933-34, the Civil Works Administration (CWA) hired unemployed workers to improve the streets of Pinedale, Wyoming, with drainage works and gravel surfaces. According to Michael Cassity (2012) the work included: "streets of town graveled, streets drained, culverts replaced, ten new culverts built."
