• Post Office - Alhambra CA
    The historic and distinctive post office in Alhambra, California was constructed in 1935-6 with Federal Treasury Department funds. The building, which was designed by John W. Smart, also received examples of New Deal artwork and is still in service. Per The Los Angeles Times: "Participants in the laying of Alhambra's new postoffice cornerstone included, left to right, Harry R. B. Briggs, Los Angeles postmaster; W. J. Beadle, Alhambra postmaster, who will preside over the new structure, and Floretta Cortez, San Gabriel beauty chosen to lend charm to the occasion."
