The historic former post office in Conway, South Carolina was built in 1935 with Treasury Department funds. The building now serves as the Conway Visitors Center.
A gem of the New Deal is the Cohen Building in Washington, D.C., originally intended for the Social Security board. This Art Deco delight has wall-to-wall fresco murals by the great Ben Shahn and others. Later named after Wilbur J. Cohen, it housed H.E.W. offices and the Voice of America.
