• Old Somervell County Jail - Glen Rose TX
    This old jail served Somervell County for 50 years, before it was closed by the state for not meeting modern jail standards. Built in 1934, funded as a WPA government project during the Depression, as a replacement for the first county jail built in 1884, located on the same site.
  • Public School - Glen Rose TX
    WPA grant was obtained in 1939 to build a school. Three low-water dams on the Paluxy River, several local school buildings, and a canning plant were built with Work Projects Administration money.
  • Waterworks and Sewerage - Glen Rose TX
    The Public Works Administration approved waterworks and sewerage construction for Glen Rose (project 1792) 12/12/1933. A loan of $46,00 and grant of $16,236 funded the construction. The project was completed April 2, 1935.
