    The National Youth Administration built park facilities in Ballinger City Park. The marker is installed in a rock wall lining the park road. Park amenities include an old bridge, picnic tables, a low bench, a couple of buildings, and retaining walls.

    Sweetwater Reporter reported in Sept. 1938 that Ballinger, TX received $92,395 in PWA funds for street improvements. "The project is to provide new paving for principal business and residential streets in Ballinger and resurfacing and extension of other paved streets."

    The historic post office building in Ballinger, Texas was constructed from 1937-8 with federal Treasury Department funds. The building is still in service.
  • Pou Ave Bridge - Ballinger TX
    The Works Progress Administration built an arched stone bridge over a small creek near the intersection of Pou Avenue and N. 13th Street. The bridge consists of two arches. Located along the side of the bridge is a rock wall that appears in need of repair. The marker is on the end of the wall nearest N. 13th Street, and it bears the dates 1935-1937.
  • Runnels County Sheriff's Office - Ballinger TX
    The National Youth Administration constructed the building that houses the Runnels County Sheriff's Office between 1941 and 1942.
  • Woodworking Shop - Ballinger TX
    Plans for construction of a native stone workshop on the courthouse lawn in Ballinger were begun in June 1939. Rock was obtained from the city quarry. The building was planned for 40 x 60 feet with space for 15 boys to work at the same time. The project was expected to cost about $5,000 and employ 50 workers. The machinery was installed in April 1940 and the center expected to begin production that month. The project held open house April 16, 1941.
