    "This WPA-constructed building stands at 500 E. Choctaw, just east of Hwy. 81 in historic Chickasha, which is located on what was once the famous Chisholm Trail. This is a large one and two-story native sandstone building built in 1940, which contains 25,000 square feet (100 x 125 ft). This building was built with a WPA appropriation of $73,439. The primary fairground buildings are this livestock arena, and an administration building to the north.     "This native sandstone building located at the northwest corner of N. Second Street and Pennsylvania Avenue was constructed in 1940 by the WPA. The plaque has fallen off the building (see photo gallery), but the building was found listed as City Warehouse among the Grady County WPA construction. There is a stone plaque on the building, however, which shows it to be constructed in 1940. On the plaque are the names of the then Mayor, Treasurer, Clerk, Street Commissioner, Chief of Police and Council Members.     "During the mid-1930s, the WPA constructed many items in Shannon Springs Park, including walls and drainage ditches, a caretaker's cottage and bathhouse, an amphitheater and this beautiful stone bridge. A concrete WPA shield shows the date 1936. The bridge crosses the park lake and has both pedestrian and vehicle access. Stone pillars rise at each end on both sides of the bridge.     "This is a rectangular native stone building, with no windows. Two graduated rows of stone are added at the roof line on each corner. On the east side of the front of the building, as large opening which once had a metal sliding door, has been fitted with an overhead door. Above the door and on the upper wall on each end, is a concrete inset engraved "WPA 1938". The building appears to still be in use today.
