  • G Street Pedestrian Subway (demolished) - Livingston MT
    Montana's Big Timber Pioneer newspaper reported: "Started Oct. 6, WPA crews established a record here when they completed the $26,000 "G" street pedestrian subway weeks ahead of schedule. The new 92-foot concrete subway connects with a long railroad underpass." The fate of this structure is not known by Living New Deal, but is presumed to be no longer extant.
  • NYA Campground - Livingston MT
    The Montana newspaper Big Timber Pioneer reported in early 1937 that "Eighteen miles from Livingston on the road to Gardiner NYA workers have transformed a wooded area into a five-acre camping spot. Rustic tables and benches were built and placed in the area, channels were dug to change the course of the creek and make water available for irrigation of grass plots at the picnic sites. Two springs were developed and 300 yards from the camp a woodland swimming pool. 50 by 120 yards, with an average depth of four feet, has been built."
  • Sacajawea Park - Livingston MT
    According to Big Timber Pioneer newspaper, Sacajawea Park in the town of Livingston, MT was one of 55 public parks 'built or improved' by the WPA in Montana between fall 1935 and Sept. 1938. The construction of Sacajawea Park involved a diversion of the Yellowstone River, creating a lake "that provide habitat for waterfowl. An arched stone bridge built by the WPA separates two of the ponds creating Sacajawea Lake." In addition to other "extensive improvements," WPA labor built a "lighted turf athletic field; and a spacious hard-surface tennis court area." Swimming and boating facilities were also provided.
