• Barry-Baker Tunnel - Sausalito CA
    A Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp was established west of the Baker-Barry tunnel on the Marin Headlands, probably in 1934. Enrollees from this camp built the Baker-Barry Tunnel, a single-lane passage under the Marin Headlands, in 1935. The CCC camp closed in 1936, but the tunnel remains on Bunker Road in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.  It was extensively renovated by the National Park Service in 2016-17.

    A Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp was established west of the Baker-Barry tunnel on the Marin Headlands, probably in 1934. The camp consisted of twelve barracks, a mess hall, two shower and toilet buildings, three storage sheds, a cold storage house, and an open garage.   • Fort Baker Improvements - Sausalito CA
    From 1936 to 1938, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) did renovations and upgrades to Fort Baker, an Army base on the north side of the Golden Gate dating from the early 1900s. One project included renewal of the storm water drainage system, repair of the electric and water distribution system, and three new fire hydrants. It also included installation of a steam heating system in Barracks No. 1 (structure no. 602), which had been heated by fireplaces.     The Works Progress Administration (WPA) constructed the northern approach road to the Golden Gate Bridge (not itself a New Deal project).  It ran 1.5 miles from the end of US Highway 101 to the bridgehead on the Marin Headlands.
