• Chaffey High School and Old Junior College - Ontario CA
    The first building on this campus was opened as part of the Chaffey College of Agriculture in 1885. It became the Ontario High School in 1901 and the present Chaffey High School in 1911. In 1916, the Chaffey Junior College of Agriculture was added as a postgraduate department to the high school. The junior college maintained a presence on the campus until 1959 when it moved to its present location in Alta Loma.     The Works Progress Administration built the City Hall of the City of Ontario. The ceremonial grand opening took place in 1937.   The structure currently houses the Ontario Museum of History and Art.

    The cornerstone of this 1940 New Deal post office lists John M. Carmody as the Federal Works Administrator and W. Engelbert Reynolds as the Commisioner of Public Buildings.
  • Post Office Murals - Ontario CA
    The Ontario post office contains a pair of complementary oil on canvas murals painted by Nellie G. Best in 1940 with funding from the Treasury Section of Fine Arts. In counterpart to "The Dream," "The Reality" depicts several men with shovels and other tools in an undeveloped California landscape.

    New Deal federal funds totaling $35,000 allowed for the widening and paving of A Street (today W Holt Blvd) 1.6 miles from San Antonio Ave to S Cucamonga Ave which was at the time was the city limits. Holt Blvd, along with Valley Blvd was once the original alignment for Route 60.
