  • CCC Senior Camp - St. John VI
    The Annual Report of the Governor of the Virgin Islands for 1938 describes the establishment of new camp facilities on St. John: "During the year, a side camp was established on the island of St. John, where there are now 26 persons enrolled in the senior camp."
  • South Valley Regional Airport - West Jordan UT
    Works Progress Administration (WPA) crews built the Salt Lake City Municipal Airport II, now known as South Valley Regional Airport, in 1942.
  • Fort Douglas: Recreation Hall & Pool - Salt Lake City UT
    Fort Douglas was expanded during the New Deal by the PWA, CCC and WPA.  The WPA added several homes for senior officers (buildings 621-625 on the central parade grounds, along De Trobriand Street) and non-commissioned officers (buildings 658, 600, 664, 665, 666 on Connor Road), along with entrance columns.  These are all still in use. There are several other WPA works at Fort Douglas that are harder to document or have disappeared:  a recreation building (pictured), swimming pool (filled in?), a gas station (modified from an earlier stone building that still stands), and improvements to the water and street systems (invisible).   • CCC Camp V2 Estate Grand Princess - Christiansted, St. Croix VI
    The CCC built camp facilities at Estate Grand Princess (La Grande Princesse) near Christiansted. The Annual Report of the Governor of the Virgin Islands for 1938 describes the CCC's establishment and planned expansion of the camp in St. Croix, "the junior camps in St. Thomas and St. Croix have maintained their authorized enrollment of 100 men each. In the next fiscal year it is proposed to increase the enrollment of the St. Croix camp from 100 to 150 men."
  • CCC Camp V1 near Lindbergh Bay - St. Thomas VI
    The CCC built camp facilities near Lindbergh Bay in St. Thomas. The Annual Report of the Governor of the Virgin Islands for 1938 describes the CCC's effort to expand enrollment and camp facilities across the islands: "The senior camp in St. Thomas has maintained an enrollment of approximately 75 persons, and the junior camps in St. Thomas and St. Croix have maintained their authorized enrollment of 100 men each. In the next fiscal year it is proposed to increase the enrollment of the St. Croix camp from 100 to 150 men" In 1939, the Lindbergh Bay camp moved to make way for a Marine Corps...
  • Solberg Roadwork - St. Thomas VI
    The CCC built a road in Solberg, a settlement on St. Thomas.
  • Long Bay Drainage Outlets - Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas VI
    The CCC built temporary drainage outlets at Long Bay, Charlotte Amalie, on St. Thomas.
  • CCC Camp at Estate Mandahl - St. Thomas VI
    The CCC built new camp facilities at Estate Mandahl on St. Thomas.
  • Health Clinic - St. John VI
    The National Youth Administration built the only health clinic on St. John island, to serve its 800 inhabitants.
  • Dorothea Agriculture Experiment Station - St. Thomas VI
    The Agricultural Experiment Station was built with the help of PWA funds, near Dorothea. The total expenditure for the removal of the "agricultural station from Lindbergh Bay, St. Thomas, to new site at Estate Dorothea, St Thomas, including the purchase of land at Estate Dorothea and the construction of buildings for the agricultural station thereon" was $28,709.
