Delaware's old Bridge 119, which carried Mt. Cuba Rd. over Red Clay Creek, was "built in 1939 by Olivere Paving and Construction Company of Wilmington, Delaware under State Highway Department Contract #664 (PW.A. Project No. 1039F)." The building has since been replaced. The federal Public Works Administration (PWA) provided a grant of $19,514. Construction occurred between December 1938 and August 1939. Lincoln Gardens was the second Federal Housing Project created under the administration of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal. Designed to replace eleven acres of housing in poor repair, the Lincoln Gardens' sixteen new apartment buildings opened on July 1 1938 to provide housing for African-Americans with moderate incomes. While most of the apartment buildings were eventually razed, the last building now houses the Evansville African American Museum.

Houston, Texas's old Jefferson Davis Hospital was constructed as a federal Public Works Administration (PWA) project during the Great Depression. The PWA supplied a $1,003,500 grant toward the eventual $2,388,686 total cost of the project. Work occurred between March 1936 and December 1937. The facility was demolished in 1999.
